ENGR. I. A. WAKILI
Engr. Wakili Ibrahim started his early years of practice as a Technical officer on the National High-ways and Urban Roads Rehabilitation Project – PTF Lot 6 covering the North Eastern Zone of Nigeria in 1996.
During that period, he was in charge of the quality control operations on the project, which comprised of soil investigations and exploration for suitable roadwork materials, soil-cement stabilized base course and general asphalt works.
In addition to the above, he was engaged in the survey, design and supervision of the construction of 23km Layi-Damasak road project as well as the rehabilitation of the remaining 157km existing stretch between Maiduguri and Layi. Engr. Wakili also participated in the post contract supervision of Maiduguri Township Roads and Maiduguri-Damboa-Biu Road projects (All in Borno State – Nigeria).
He was part of the team mandated for the Provision of survey data necessary for the Vertical and Horizontal (Design) alignment for the construction of Panyam – Shendam Road in Plateau State – Nigeria.
He also participated in the Engineering Design of Maiduguri – Ngbwa (Chad Republic ) Road Dualisation (with 64.5km deck on Pile Bridge across the Lake Chad) and design of Iruekpen – Benin road dualization in Nigeria in which he carried out:
- Detail surveys and Design of Road layout and Geometry.
- Deep soil investigations (Boreholes & Trial pits) along proposed route and Pile locations.
- Detailed Engineering Design of Road Pavement and other Structural Elements.He rose to the position of senior Engineer during which he was involved in the Structural design and supervision of various high-rise buildings, among which is Mobil/Emerald Estate in Lagos.
He went through a short course in Industrial/Oil field-Health Safety and Environment (HSE) Management Appreciation, with MMC Consultants in Lagos.
He has managed projects including Gas Pipelines, piping and installation of Gas metering stations in various locations. He has also managed World Bank water projects in Lagos – Nigeria. During those periods, he was responsible for all site operations and resource management.
I. A. Wakili canvassed the establishment of Sindwa Engineering Company as the Principal Partner/Chief Executive Officer in 2008. He has since being engaged in piloting the affairs of the company.
He is a Member Nigerian Society Engineers (NSE), Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers (NICE) and also registered with Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
